My dear Mr Chambers,
To my knowledge, I never met William de Morgan. He was of a younger
generation, born in 1839. But the great tile maker, and the novelist were
one and the same. I take an interest, because Mr de Morgan paid me the
honour of being a devotee of my works, and was a founder member of the
Dickens Fellowship.
Faithfully yours,
Charles Dickens
