My dear Miss Jennifer,

  Perhaps you could compare Darnay and Lucie with the Defarges.  The latter
are loving and loyal, but how different!  Perhaps you could also compare
Darnay and Lucie to Bassanio and Portia in "The Merchant of Venice."  This
is another plot involving trials in court, the peril of death, and wifely
fidelity.
