Dear Mr. Dickens and Gentle Readers,
I have just received my Master's degree in psychological counseling, and am planning a doctoral program. One of my future projects in assessment is to look at several of Mr. Dickens' fascinating characters and diagnose them according to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-IV).
I am considering Bill Sykes and Nancy from Oliver Twist, and Miss Havisham from Great Expectations. I will be re-reading Mr. Dickens' stories over the summer, and would appreciate any suggestions about particular characters, or books which seem particularly fruitful in psychopathology.
Are there any psychologists or counselors out there among the rest of you?
     With best regards,
     Annette
