My dear Miss Kacey,

Marie Antoinette, alluded to only obliquely, is scarcely to be considered
a character in my book "A Tale of Two Cities," I would have thought.
Evidently you have been given an assignment to write on the book. I ought
not to write your assignment for you, I feel. But let me suggest some pairs
of characters you might consider comparing. Carton and Darnay, needless to
say; Miss Pross and Madame Defarge; Carton and Stryver; even Mr Lorry and Dr
Manette.

Faithfully yours,

Charles Dickens
