Ah, but my dear Charles, do you remember the violent fights on both sides of
the Atlantic concerning copyright laws that you had to endure to ARRIVE at
that "honest income?"  Artists, by the very nature of their elevated state are
forever the target of those greedy leeches who hide behind the adoring public
whilst raising the pedestal higher and higher until, out of reach they now
have ready access to the blood freely given by that adoring public.

That pedestal is the usury exacted from "believers" -- artists whose calling
to a higher standard renders the discussion of remuneration a base issue. And
so, the leech is fattened by both parties.
