My dear Mrs Moore,

Nothing would please me more than to answer questions from members of your
class. I ask only one thing. What can be more wearying than repeatedly
answering the same question? You would oblige me very much if you were to
persuade class members with the same question to club together and send
joint letters.
I myself never visited Rockford, Illinois, but my excellent assistant Dr
David Parker did, this spring. He seems to be in charge here at 48 Doughty
Street. He tells me he gave a talk at Rockford College, in April, on my
book "Nicholas Nickleby." I trust he did it justice. The memory of the
rolling farmsteads of Illinois stays with him, he says, and of the great
barns dominating the hillsides.

Faithfully yours,

Charles Dickens
