Pat,
I know this may be a little late but I saw the tail end of a TV
programme this morning that may be of some use to your class (or next
years!). It features home movie footage of school life in England and
Germany during the war and interviews with people who were at school at
the time. The Age group of the schoollooked to be years 6-8 (UK
standard, age 10-12). The films are available on video (but European PAL
format only I fear). But more importantly there is web site accompanying
the series on
http://schools.channel4.com/online_resources/netnotes/hiahfthm/hiahfthmnn_index.html
(you may need to cut and paste that URL, it's a bit of a monster).
Hopefully it'll be broadcast on PBS or some such channel in Missouri
sometime.
Regards
