As MEMORIES listowner I would like to thank Walter Felscher
and Eddy Behrendt; firstly for the benefit of their
considerable experience (after all, where else could one get
direct information about such events and places?), but also
for the reasonable way in which the discussion has been
conducted.

The Internet is a great stirrer-upper of passions, and I
think the subject of the Hitler Youth movement is one that
could quickly and easily lead to a flame-war.  But as Eddy
Behrendt says,

>However, the Memories List, which is such an important one to help
>inform our youth, is, I am sure, not meant as a serious debating club.

I think we should accept that, and now move on.
