Steve Nickless asked me to put this on the list and
hopes for reponses from others. Maybe schools reading
this request could ask granparents about games during
the 1940s that have now disappeared?

I wondered if you could perhaps help me on another aspect of the time of
the second world war. Do you know of any children's games which were
popular then? Perhaps some which might have grown out of the deprivation
during the war. My Dad used to talk about "Tip cat" played with two pieces
of wood. Sadly the rules died with him. Any ideas?
Any information or pointers in the right direction would be great. Look
forward to hearing from you.
Steve
