The original question was whether the United States went to war because of
the Holocaust, and the answer is definitely NO. For that matter, no country
went to war because of the Holocaust. The countries you mentioned were
attacked by theGermans and therefore had no choice but to go to war.
They themselves did not attack Germany in order to defend Jews or to stop
the horror that was going on at that time.
As a Holocaust survivor myself, I think that I am pretty familiar what was
going on in Europe at that time, and also what the phrase "Never Again"
actually means.
I do strongly agree with Mary Haas that we all must try to make sure that
such
terrible things never ever happen to anyone anywhere. We must do more
though
than just be indignant, we must speak out and act.
