MEMORIES - A REMINDER TO ADULTS.

This is addressed to the adults on this list, but to no
adult in particular.
The list has grown since 1993 and now has 307 subscribers.
Some of those subscribers are other distribution lists which
spread what we write even further. I don't think there is
any way to find out how many read our discussions and
stories, but the vast majority of them, probably thousands
of them, will be children in their classrooms studying the
period of history that we have lived through.
Because we have lived through it we are well qualified to
say what we have seen and done, but we are also - because of
the emotions and hurts that that experience brings - not
best qualified to provide answers of 'blame'.
Let us hope that the children who now look over our
shoulders and read our words will profit from them. I'm not
sure that it will help for us to scratch at old wounds and
to say "we should have done this, we could have done that".
I say this NOT to ignore the harm done by the philosophy of
Nazism, of which we adults are ALL victims in one way or
another. I say it because 'blame' will quickly become
'flame' and THAT could easily destroy this important
educational experiment. That would be a pity.
