Jews in Nazi Germany

Unfortunately the American shame goes deeper than just the rejection of one
boatload
of refugees.

The U.S., and many other countries, did little at all at the beginning
either to stop the
Nazis or to help Holocaust victims to escape. For example, there was a
bill in congress
to permit 10,000 young children, without parents or families, to escape and
enter the
USA. After much debate, the bill was rejected, and the children perished
in Europe.

Great Britain on the other hand was the only country that at least did try
to assist some
of the victims, and they did permit 10,000 young children to enter the
United Kingdom
where they took care of them during the entire war time period.
