I can respond to one of the questions. I was an Army nurse, stationed
in North Africa, Sicily and England.Since we females were definitely
in a minority, plus being an officer, we didn't lack at all in
entertainment- that is when we were able to find the time. Our
bulletin board was always filled with officers wanting us to sign up
to be entertained at their units. We always had multiple choices. Our
favorite ones were with either the Air Force or Navy. They always
seemed to have access to more than we did-especially in the food
department. We really had no reason to complain about our food, but
theirs was just better. If one was off duty, they could go somewhere
every night. I was one of the fortunate ones. I met a super pilot on a
blind date in North Africa and we were married in Sicily- even had a
church wedding. Happy to say that almost 54 years later, we are still
together and happy.I'd be happy to answer any questions anyone may
have.
