I am in my late '40's, and have always been curious about something. I
have always wondered if there was any way that the Americans could have
gone in and done anything sooner about the concentration camps? If not
us, could some other country have stepped in sooner to end these
atrocities? I have a renewed interest in this after watching
"Schindler's List" in TV the other evening. I am not necessarily asking
people to share memories about this that will too painful. I have great
respect for all who lived during the WWII period. My father served four
years in the Air Force, but was stationed stateside, due to an arm
injury. I am so glad I got on this list serve. I am a teacher, and what
I am learning from all of you is fasinating! Yesterday, I especially
enjoyed reading the correspondence from Kees Vanderheyden (what a
talented storyteller!) and also from Sally MacLaren. Thanks so much for
sharing with us all!
