I teach 7th grade math and one reading course. We have read two
books that address the Holocaust. Number the Stars by Lois Lowery is
an excellent book--the students really liked reading it. Devil's Arithmetic
by Jane Yolen is also excellent but much more graphic than the first. It
gives a vivid but realistic view of what happened. It may seem
confusing at first--I was left with a "WOW" feeling when I finished it.
You may want to read this one prior to sharing it with your class.
