So glad to see students asking questions about WWII again.
What was the cause and the start is very complex.  Think about this Fear and
Hate and the use of both.  WWII is often considered by historians to be a
continuation of WWI. That fear and hate goes back even farther and is present
to day.  Hope and cooperation  is what I think won the war for individuals
and nations.
From what I have heard the Danes were excellent at helping the Jews.  If you
contact the National Holocaust Memorial Museum they can probably give you the
best answer as they have so much data.
