I haven't had the opportunity to respond to many, but am taking this
opportunity. It may not be helpful to you, but hope it just might.

My war experiences, I'm certain, are far different than your fathers. I am a
registered nurse who served with the U.S. Army. My overseas experience was in
North Africa mainly, then to England. From there I was sent back to the states
because I was pregnant. I had met a pilot and we were married in Palermo,
Sicily. As was common in the service, after we were married we were separated-
he to India and me to England.

Serving my country was an experience I am so glad I had and feel privileged to
have had the opportunity to do so. Many years have passed since then, but
memories remain. Not all were pleasant ones- but that's life. If I can be of
any help to you, please let me know. I am now living in Sun City Arizona and am
an active volunteer with Hospice and find it extremely rewarding. Sally
