Hello - I'm Tom Holloway and I am the LONDON SCHOOLBOY in
the Memories Project. I have put your questions to Feliks
Chustecki, the POLISH EXILE, and here are our answers, first
his (FC) and then mine (TH).

>My name is Gabrielle Merken. I go to Crighton School......
---
>1.If someone said the Holocaust was exaggerated or made up, what
>would you say?

FC> No - if anything it was more horrific than often
  FC> described.

TH> I would refer them to the many documents available.

>2.If you could explain your experience in WWII in one word, what
>would that word be?

FC> You've got me there... My experience really is that the
FC> War dehumanised everyone caught up in it - not just
FC> those that fought in it, but also civilians. There is
FC> no word that can say that.

TH> No single word can sum up a World War.

>Hi. My name is Sean Adams and I go to the Crighton.....

>How do you feel about the recent Neo-Nazi and skinhead movements in
>the original Nazi countries and even in the US?

FC> Those movements are dangerous. What appeared to be a
FC> reasonably innocent movement in Germany in the 1930s
FC> (the German Workers Party, usually called the
FC> 'Brown-shirts') grew to be extremely dangerous.

TH> I would wonder what conditions produced such foolish
TH> reactions and I would also wonder about the education
  TH> such people had received.

>Howdy!!!!!! My name is Randi Goldberg I am 12 years.....
>I was just wondering- What emotions did you experience at the
>liberation??

FC> Liberation? My experience was a bit different. I was in
FC> a Russian slave labour camp when the Russians announced
FC> an amnesty for Polish citizens and told we would be
FC> allowed to leave. First we were told that we were
FC> their slaves and our country was destroyed, and suddenly
FC> we were fighting on the same side. We cried, the young
FC> and the old, we cried. Suddenly we were human again.

TH> My country was not occupied.

>Hi my name is Christopher Sojka. I'm from Crighton.....
>I would like to know how you remember your
>experiences from World War 2 ???

FC> I can't answer that. We all had different experiences
  FC> at different times.

  TH> I'm sorry Christopher, I don't understand your question.
TH> What is it that you want to know?
