My dicttionary tell me 'doodle-bug' is a wimsical name for the V1 flying
bomb. Also known as a buzz bomb. Any Londoner of that era would tell you
this. We had other names for them but they are not polite and printable.

The V2 was the rocket bomb visitted apon England in the later stages of
the WW2. I am not aware of any winsical or any other name for those nasty
things.
