I could perhaps make a comment regarding famous people in World War 11. As an
Army nurse, I was with the hospital unit where the much reported incident with
General Patton occurred. In addition to this event, I am proud to say that we
have General Eisenhowers signature. While in North Africa I met a pilot and a
long lasting romance developed. We decided to be married. However, at that
time, it was necessary to file papers for permission. It was a 90 day wait
while they investigated to determine whether either of us had a spouse back
home. He, being rhe commanding officer of the area signed the papers granting
us permission and so we were married in Palermo , Sicily by an army chaplain.
This was in 1943 and we are still together, I'm happy to say.
