Hi all,
        I am a teacher of fifth graders and the subject of WWII came up
when I was telling the kids about how dogs were used.  I happen to be most
interested in the breed I own, the Newfoundland dog, and the kids asked if
there were many stories about their use.  I've only heard about one--a
Canadian dog.
        Does anyone out there know about the use of Newfoundland dogs in
the war?
        It's interesting to me to see a resurgence of interest in the war
that I grew up in, and one that took my grandparents' lives.
