Keith: I don't know if I can help you much. I was in the Armoured Division
in General Patton's Third Army. In December, 1943, we were in our Tank
on our way to relieve the 101st airborne division, trapped in Bastogne,
when our tank hit a land mine, tipped over, and we ran out. At that
momemt, we were in a small French town called Yerville. I never saw the
other members of my tank crew. When I got back to the American lines,I
was re-assigned as a combat Medic to and Infantry platoon. We walked
across part of France, crossed the Rhine river into Germany, then into
Austria, and when we got to Styre, Austria, not far from Innsbruck, the
war was over, the Russians met us at the Inns river (9I'm not certain
of the name of the river, it was a long time ago) and we had a huge
party and drank a lot of Vodka. After that, I was sent home to America,
went back to school and completed my education. Don't know if this is
what you want, but let me know if I can help furthur.
