We are reading a book called Mrs. Katz & Tush by Patricia Polpcca. It refers to
Poland where Mrs. Katz lived during the Holocaust. She called it a very, very
bad time. The children in my class have many questions about that time in
history. The class is a culturally diverse group. What was it like to live in
Poland or anywhere in Europe at that time for children? The children are in
3rd. and 4th. grade. There is a boy in the story who is an Africian American and
they become more than friends. He learns a lot about being Jewish and they
adopt each other. Excellent book. I look forward to your answers.
                                Sincerely,
                                Lenore Fleishman
