Hello Jackie -- you said.....

>I have just discovered your website and have been
>sitting here for an hour with the tears running down my

My dear chap I know exactly what you mean. Haven't I done the same, typing
them up? So much so that I thought I might need to rush out and buy a
waterproof cover for my keyboard.

>I later met a Polish girl who, at the age of 3, with her 2
>sisters, was sent to Siberia before coming to NZ as refugees.

There are hundreds of thousands could tell similar stories, but they've
pushed it back or held it back because of the hurt. The problem is that
young people learn all sorts of heroic junk from their comics and their
television sets, and never learn about the untold millions of civilians
who slowly and unobtrusively died of hunger and disease, or whose
lives were shattered by tragedy.
