Someone is certainly sadly informed!!!

Firstly the parachutes were not nylon but silk - that was whyn they so
desirable. Ladies underwear in the UK before the war was either cotton
or silk.

The railing were NOT made into weapons - it was just a propaganda
exercise, as these were made from cast iron and not suitable to be
made into anything.

Aluminium saucepans were NOT collected for re-use; scrap metal was
certainly recycled but only what had been naturally discarded. After
all, as most people only had aluminium pans it would have been very
silly to collect them all in now wouldn't it?

You should really check your information before putting it up on any
list.
