In 1941 when I was seventeen we decided to raise rabbits for food in our town garden in Hertfordshire; we already had a few hens for their eggs -the ration for eggs was one per person per week- and all regulations about keeping livestock were suspended. I had a younger brother and he and I defended a pair of beautiful silver bunnies from the pot and eventually in their old age their skins made me a handsome pair of gloves..... the answer is yes rabbits wild and tame were a useful diet supplement- sometimes. ----- Original Message ----- From: <hmemor@YOUTH.NET> To: <timewitnesses@yahoogroups.com> Sent: Thursday, October 04, 2001 8:20 PM Subject: [timewitnesses] Rewatimrationin > From: patbartlet@aol.com > > I'm curious about the use of rabbits as food-- did you raise your own, > or could you buy them without ration coupons in the stores? > > Patti Bartlett > > Gainesville FL > > > To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to: > timewitnesses-unsubscribe@egroups.com > > > > Your use of Yahoo!
