I thought this might be a good forumn to get some information. I have been trying to learn about my father and his exploits during WWII. It is difficult, however, it appears that he was part of intelligence-or the like. Finding his records has been frustrating to say the least. When he passed away in 65, within 3 days of his passing, gov. officials came to our home and went thru his office and burned a large number of his papers. We also got a letter from the President about his passing. He has been married during the war, and his family thought he was stateside the entire time. Yet, he told my mother a few stories of his exploits in Europe. I also have a book, signed from a friend of his, that was written during the invasion of Italy-my impression is that they were part of the same unit. I have tried to get copies of his record with his social security number, to no avail. His records cannot be found that way. Does anyone know how to go about finding these HARD to find records? thanks Mark Sampson To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to: timewitnesses-unsubscribe@egroups.com Your use of Yahoo!
