Sandra, An acquaintance of mine grew up in German occupied Austria. The in-thing to do was to join the Hitler Youth, there were no other children groups. They were kept quite busy with activities and heavily doused with Nazi propaganda. After the War she married an American GI and had a devil of a time getting her into the US, it took over a year. The immigration authorities had the idea that being in the Hitler Youth was akin to being a juvenile Nazi which she assured me couldn't be farther from the truth, Your comments are requested.
