World War II

As Mary said:

"We never know the real truth of what was attempted and what really
happened.
Yes, we have been told stories and the number of lives saved did increase
the
more the politicians made the statement. The truth is we know very little
of
what happened and it was possible to cover up or hide the truth. I bring
this
up because we must be careful that our young people search and learn as much
as they can."

We may study what happened, but we weren't there and, though equipped
with 20/20 hinsight, we have no right to second-guess what people
considered they were forced to do, in circumstances which we pray we may
never have to face.

I hope that I will live long enough to learn what was contained in the
papers of Sir Winston Churchill - the ones that were sealed with
instructions that they not be opened until fifty years after his death; if
memory serves me correctly, that would be sometime in 2014(?). His reason
for this last request was to ensure that everyone named in the papers would
be long gone - they apparently form an exposé of what actually happened
behind the scenes during WWII. We will still have to remember though, that,
these may still simply be one person's point of view...

    Verlie
