Bewildered Granny and bewildered Grandpa

Hello everyone,

I know what's going on in my neck of the woods: I enjoy reading the
current input but I have not so far ventured to make earth shattering
pronouncements or comments. But here it goes:

There is the sad story of the pre-war refugee who arrived in this
country, with only scant knowledge of the language. He was
particularly worried by the identical spelling yet different
pronunciations of simple words such as: cough - rough - rouge - mouse
etc. What drove him to consider suicide was a newspaper item headed:
*BUDGET PRONOUNCED SUCCESS*

Regards-Peter

PS next time I will try something more serious!
