RUSTY NAIL SOUP

A well known Polish anecdote!

Ingredients One rusty nail

A Polish soldier asks a housewife to make him some soup.
What with she says? He gives her a large rusty nail.
she puts it in boiling water. Have you got a carrot?
In it goes. Have you got an onion? In it goes. Have
you got some old cabbage leaves? And so on - buckwheat,
oats and maize.

They sat down to a nourishing hot meal!
