CURRENT INTELLIGENCE The Sorel are a race of people who are highly militaristic. Within the Duon Expance, they have control of two systems. They believe that they must eradicate their enemy, the Taton and have been fighting their battle for hundreds of years. The Sorel military is a formidable force. Their ships are agile, fast, strong and impressive, and their planets are a massive military machine, producing infantry, weapons and ships. The Sorel People As a people, the Sorel are deeply religious, believing in one god, Nala, who created the seven stars. And on one of those systems she placed her beloved children to live in peace. There also believe in a demigod, he scorned husband, Vel. Vel is a vindictive god, who placed their enemy on another planet for the sole reason of destroying the Sorel. The Sorel appear similar to humans, save their baldness and blue scaly skin. The gravity on their homeworld is one-half greater than that of Earth giving them unmatched agility in the Gamma Quadrant. However, the rest of their small empire has varying gravity, the least of which being one-third that of Earth, the reason they are able to control a planet so easily. Through training and technology, they have adapted their physiology to the varying climates making them a force to be reckoned with no matter what the climate. The Sorel have exploited their traits to create a formidable armed force with the sole purpose of destroying the Taton. Sorel Starships * Sorel Carrier: A carrier is vaguely rectangular, with a protruding section at the bow, where the command deck and fighter bays are housed. The rest of the ship is in three sections with the first two dedicated to troop housing and fighter storage. The third houses the ship's nacelles, arranged in threes, at the rear of the ship. The Carrier looks vulnerable, but with a small fighter attachment, dozens of disruptor turrets and torpedo launchers and dozens or garrisons of troops a Sorel Carrier is a match for the Federation's Midway-class Carrier. * Sorel Combat Ships: Their combat ships, are a mixture of fighters, dreadnoughts and scouts each being a scaled version of the dreadnought. A dreadnought, and thus the scouts and fighters, is deceptively bulky, but they can run rings around their Federation counterparts. The bulk of the ship is situated farther to the rear of the vessel, with the nacelles extending forward and down like a massive lantern jaw. The ships combine agility with strength in an impressive technological display. The main portion of the hull houses the crew with the remainder of the ship dedicated to weapons and propulsion. In tactical formation you can expect three dreadnoughts, five scouts and a dozen or more fighters in each unit. If a carrier is in the area, you can expect at least six units.
