KLINGON EMPIRE

CURRENT INTELLIGENCE

The Klingon Empire is combination of what was once the Klingon Empire and the Klingon Alliance. Through skilled negotiations, both Klingon peoples were reunited in 2413, creating a new and important power in the galaxy. Though the Klingon Alliance lost a great deal of its forces against the Kem D'Neel, the former Klingon Empire had built up quite a substantial force. The uniting of these two Klingon people allowed for gains in both forces and territory. Currently the Klingon High Council, led by Regent Klarn and his wife, Helena, rules the Empire.

The Klingons pride themselves in tradition, honor, and combat. They continue to wear the same uniform style worn for the last several centuries. The typical rank that commands a starship is Commander.

It is written in the book of Fek'lhr that the reunification of the Klingon Empire would be undone by a child with Klingon and Romulan blood. This Mongol was supposed to ruin Qo'noS, and kill millions of Klingons. The quv cho' was supposed to rise above this and lead the remnants of the empire to paradise. The only way to prevent this from happening was the month long ritualistic sacrifice of the child.

In early 2415, the USS PATRIOT encountered a man named K'Var, who sought asylum for his son Sovek whom he claimed was the Mongol. The PATRIOT's counselor, Tellah Pendragon took the child and escaped with him, despite orders to not to get involved. A Romulan patrol managed to kill the child and replace it with an adult, who then took over a fleet of seven rebel Birds of Prey. In the ensuing fight with the PATRIOT, Sovek was killed and the threat of the Mongol was believed to have been obliterated. Meanwhile, it was discovered that another Klingon/Romulan half breed, named Ket'Lok, was the true Mongol. Over the course of the following months, Ket'Lok gathered support and managed to assemble a small rebel fleet consisting of several birds of prey and Vor'cha class cruisers, as well as some Romulan warbirds, scoutships, and a Remus class battleship.

In late 2415, the PATRIOT received warning of the Mongol's having reappeared. A small Klingon outpost on the border had been attacked and destroyed, and rumors surrounded the event of a new type of Romulan vessel with awesome firepower. Records recovered from the outpost's logs included ship designs of what appeared to be a Klingon battle cruiser, but with Romulan design, and had been christened the D8. A very purposeful and destructive ship it appears, its use as yet unknown.

The PATRIOT followed the Mongol's trail of destruction, along the way learning of the existence of a new Klingon super weapon, the "Devastator", which the Klingons installed on their outposts and which the Mongol stole from several of his targets. Details on this weapon remain sketchy; it is apparently based on a new trilithium-naquadah compound and works by creating a subspace rift at least one quarter light-year from the weapon's position, into which attacking ships will be pulled. The stronger the target's own warp-field, the stronger will it be pulled into the rift.

In final attempt to neutralize the threat of the Mongol, the PATRIOT managed to destroy their enemy's lead ship. Full sensor sweeps revealed multiple pieces of debris and dead life forms, but the Mongol himself likely survived and was beamed to safety by one of his fleet's escaping ships. He will surely be heard from again in the not too distant future.
