CURRENT INTELLIGENCE

The Breen, who have rarely been seen outside their encounter suits, are a vicious and expansionistic race. The Breen must live in a freezing cold environment to survive and do not have any blood. They have historically took the side of the strongest power, hoping to play other against that power. Since their defeat during the first Dominion War, the Breen have kept a low profile, gathering its forces and preparing. During the Kem D'Neel incursion, the Breen was the only major power (with the exception of the Tholians) who did not contribute to the war effort and were noticeably absent in the fleet engagement of Coriana III. A popular saying is "Never turn your back on a Breen."

The Breen are always seen in their encounter suits, used to refrigerate their bodies in any environment which is not similar to their indigenous habitat. The Breen is ruled by a single individual that carries the title Thot. A typical rank for a starship commander is Regar.
