| GENERAL NOTES
The immediate predecessor to the Investigator class, Venus class Fast Cruisers were designed to fill a hole in the lines of Starfleet Forces left by the retirements of the final Constellation Class in 2400. Designed to run at the upper end of the warp spectrum, the ship is capable of transversing federation territory and provide front line defense giving the larger ships time to be deployed. In the 2 decades of service, only one ship has been lost in combat. This class still serves a vital role and is usually assigned to fleets designated for exploration, or border defense.
