GENERAL NOTES

With the advent of Transwarp drive, Many of Starfleet's front line ships became obsolete almost overnight. One of these classes was the mark-4 Swiften class fast Destroyer. Even though the class was mid way through it's production cycle, Starfleet ordered plans to be drawn for a mark-5. As with her predecessors Swiften Mark-5 was designed off a platform shared with other ships. Unlike the previous generations, the Mark-5 is not equipped with a Advanced Energy Weapon, instead it is equipped with an advanced torpedo type, launched from an added pod over the saucer. This along with the high capacity warp core, and the extensive phaser array make the Mark-5 one of the most formidable weapons in the fleet.
