INTERIOR DESCRIPTIONS

INTERIOR DESCRIPTIONS:

Flight Deck:

Primary operational control of the STAR RIDER is provided by the Flight Deck, located in the forward section of the vessel. The Flight deck sits slightly above (2 steps) the main cabin. There are large windows forward and both port and starboard, that give this area a very ‘open’ feel.

The central area of the Flight Deck provides seating and information displays for the commander. Directly fore of the command seat (one step down)are the Operations Manager and Flight Control Officer, both of whom face the forward windows.

Directly behind the command seat on the port side is the Engineering station. Opposite Engineering on the starboard side is the Science station. Both stations have horseshoe shaped consoles, with entry and egress to the center. Both stations are on the same level as the command seat.

Main Cabin:

The main cabin takes up the majority of the interior. Along the hull on either side are access terminals for the specific sub systems, i.e. impulse engines, life support, weapons, warp drive, transporter, sensors, medical, replicators, holo-matrix.

The main cabin is fitted with an array of holo-emitters. The cabin can be configured for multiple uses, only limited by its programming. For example walls could be erected creating a room(s) for sleeping, or tables and chairs created for eating a meal. One specific application is a bio-bed for diagnostic and medical treatment. A brig could be created for incarceration of prisoners (basically a level 10 containment field). Another application would be a miniature astrometrics lab. Although holographic technology of this level has been around a long time, it has not been used in quite this way before.

The transporter pads (2) are in the forward part of the main cabin on the port side.

Entry and egress from the ship is through a three section hatch in the rear. Normally only the center section is used. The other sections can be opened to allow loading of large or bulky cargo. There is also a magna-link docking ring integrated into the bottom of the ship.

Sanitation Compartment (Head):

Basic. Toilet, vanity and sonic shower.
