GENERAL NOTES

This class was designed to replace destroyed Akira Class ships. The prototype vessel was built some 10 years ago, and submitted to extensive testing. This was done in secret (the ship and crew passing itself off as a transport) due to the new technologies being developed for wide scale fleet use. It was the first active ship to make use of a Phasing cloak, as well as transphasic torpedoes and array based ablative armor.

Shameran was destroyed due to engineering complications, but with a few relatively minor changes, the design was proven sound and put into production,

The Shameran was the cover name for the USS Prophecy, a Dimensional light cruiser. To further hide that secret project, and to explain the sightings of this mysterious vessel by so many, this class was purposefully named Shameran, and carried the Prophecy's hull configuration.
