PROPHECY-CLASS TRANS-DIMENSIONAL LIGHT CRUISER
Technical Specifications, Revision 01
Starfleet Engineering, SB4, Orbiting Mars

| GENERAL NOTES The PROPHECY-class Dimensional Light Cruiser is the culmination of research and experimentation with trans-dimensional shifting, a technology first encountered with the Locustan Regime. The need for a ship dedicated to dimensional exploration was brought into question as the Locustan Regime broke down into a civil war. With the Locustan/Romulan hostilities divided, Starfleet was able to divert attention to regrouping and taking the war to the Locusta, rather than waiting for the immanent invasion. The civil war within the Locustan Regime severely hindered their ability to attack this dimension. It is strongly believed the Regime no longer has the support, nor weapons to be considered a threat. But, as with all war, pockets of conflict remain. And in the case of the Locusta, pockets of undivided, unconquered, and more dimensions of civil war exist. The Prophecy-class cruiser was designed to seek out these pockets and any allies which exist. The cruiser's secondary mission is to seek out the pockets of Locusta loyalty and report back to Command their strengths, abilities and locations, so Starfleet and the Federation might prepare for the coming invasion. The PROPHECY has nearly twice the decks of a frigate, and is nearly one-quarter longer and and fully two times wider than the attack vessel. However, with the increased size of the ship, comes an increased amount of science labs, medical labs, and scientific equipment. The weapons on the ship, have not increased proportionally. They have specifically been limited to decrease the possibility of misinterpretation as a war ship. However, a pulse phaser cannon system has been installed as a way of making would-be attackers think twice. The Prophecy-class T-D Cruiser has integrated bio-neural circuitry that allows for a faster response, higher efficiency and quicker information assimilation. As a ship's size is increased, speed is sometimes an unfortunate casualty. However, careful attention was given to the Prophecy-class and speed was not sacrificed. The cruiser's twin nacelles, mounted to either side of the engineering hull, propel the ship at cruising speeds of warp 5.9, with a maximum sustained velocity of Warp 8.125. During testing, the PROPHECY attained the speed of Warp 9.9995 for a full ten seconds, before the engines were shut off. It is estimated, a maximum speed could near the warp ten threshold, without the use of the ship's transwarp engines. The Prophecy-class utilizes a hull configuration first introduced by the Akira-class over half a century ago. However, the sleek design was corrupted with the addition of cargo bays and several decks on the ship's forward section. Though the Prophecy-class is considerably smaller than the historic Galaxy-class ship, technological advancements have given the ship more than enough to make up for the difference. The Prophecy-class is equipped with the most modern bio-hull, capable of instantaneous reaction to damage. The bio-hull also has integrated kinetic dispersion components that absorb and spread the shock of a blast across the hull, lessening the force generated at the point of impact. For defenses, the ship has three types of weaponry. The new standards for Starfleet, phaser emitters and Quantum torpedoes, and a form of phaser not seen in many years. The Pulse Phaser Cannon. The cannons, located in the equipment module, above deck one at the rear of the ship, allow a short discharge to be stored and released in rapid sequences preventing easy dispersion of the charge. TECHNOLOGY NOTES IDC SYSTEM, SERIES 1: The Prophecy incorporates Exopods within the starship design, a concept that is proving useful on previous Starhips. A "colony" of about eight (8) Exopods will inhabit a Prophecy-class vessel. These Exopods will be built with limited intelligence, with one ExoComp aboard to oversee that the Exopods are treated fairly. They, in combination with the widely accepted biohull and a new computer system, will essentially become an aggregate organism, allowing for incredible repair time and efficiency. MARK I BEHAVIORAL INTERFACE: The backbone of the starship, the Mark I computer system is the first such system to incorporate an experimental behavioral interface program which may eventually result in the development of a full artificial intelligence. The behavioral interface is the most complex computer system designed to date, including a limited personality and a constant, dynamic, user-specific interface format. Early tests have revealed that this method has reduced or even eliminated the potential for crew personality conflicts at times found in consistently generalized personality standards.
