NORWAY-CLASS ESCORT DESTROYER
Technical Specifications, Revision 01
Starfleet Corps of Engineering - Archive File

| GENERAL NOTES Norway Class was designed as a more aggressive designt han the sabre class. Whereas the Sabre focused its weaponry on Phaser arrays, Norway focused more on Torpedos. The ship was designed during a time of hightened hostilities towards Starfleet and the Federation in general, where even civilian merchant traffic wasnt safe from piracy or hostile empires. Witht he focus on torpedoes over phaser arrays, the energy signature of the Norway was greatly reduced, and unless enemy gunners knew what they were looking for, didnt appear to be anything but another member of the shipping convoy. While officially designated as a Reserve class, Norway class is still maintained and uprated at regular intervals. They are assigned to the Reserve Tactical Fleet, awaiting a time where they will be needed once more. A small Skeleton crew is assigned to each vessel to maintain its service readyness. -- |
