| GENERAL NOTES Miranda class started out as a heavy frigate, designed to patrol the borders of the federation and take part in task force maneuvers. the miranda also served as a decent scout ship, where more armament was needed than provided ont he Oberth class. It incorporated two large hangar bays, and could be used to lauch fighters in a combat zone, medical shuttles in a disaster area, or any number of uses areas this large could serve in. Miranda classes with a tactical focus had a 'rollbar' installed over the primary hull containing both forward and aft mega phasers mounted port and starboard, as well as torpedo tubes forward and aft in the center. This freed up space from other areas of the ship to allow for research stations and larger crew quarters. Over the years several different Miranda Variants were used, from the heavy frigate Type-a, to the supply ship Type-c. This versatility is what has allowed for this class to endure its 100+ years of service, and only now be retired due to an inability to add transwarp into the hull matrix. *Word of Note: there are currently 4 Miranda Class Starships of various types in the Fleet Museum -- DECK LISTINGS (STANDARD) # 01 Main Bridge, Ready Room |
