GENERAL NOTES

The Galaxy-class starship was designed as a mobile platform for a wide range of scientific and exploratory projects. It was also designed to replace the existing Ambassador and Oberth-class starships. The Galaxy-class starship has integrated bio- neural circuitry that allows for quicker response time and higher efficiency. The starship's two warp nacelles propel it at a cruising speed of Warp 7 and at a maximum speed of Warp 9.998. A Galaxy-class starship can maintain a speed of Warp 9.98 without placing a strain on the engines. There have been many Galaxy-class starships built over the years; some of the more memorable ones have included the USS ENTERPRISE, NCC-1701-D, the USS YAMATO, NCC-71807, and the USS GALAXY, NX(NCC)-70637, now NCC-5000.
