GENERAL NOTES

All Farpoint classed Ships use Klingon Transporters, as they are more powerful than those of Federation design, yet do not have the outward range of the Federation counterpart. (The transporter light effect is red)

The hull is painted darker colors to blend in with the void of space surrounding it. When ablative armor is engaged, the entire ship is black.

After a number of years in service, Starfleet found a need to equip these vessels with a limited duration Transwarp drive. While unable to maintain Transwarp speeds for indefinite lengths of time as a Starship can, the Farpoint class can obtain warp 10 for up to 10 hours before warp coils must be cooled.

These ships are primarily assigned to Marine units, or Starships sporting modest Marine contingents. They serve as a well armed and well defended transport craft from starship to battle zone, and are multi-configurable for different mission profiles. The lower deck is a massive holodeck area. The space can be programmed to serve in almost any capacity, from ferrying an entire Marine unit to incorporating medical facilities and staterooms. The ship is equipped with a late-model EMH/ECH unit, that can provide Medical care to wounded Marines, or assist in piloting the craft if necessary.
