ASSEMBLER-CLASS STARSHIP REPLICATION/RECYCLING FACILITY

Technical Specifications, Revision 01
Starfleet Corps of Engineers

GENERAL NOTES

Assembler class Facilities are responcible for Replicating the base hulls of new starships as well as recycling those already constructed ships that are either beyond their usefull life or far too damaged to repair. The facility replicates the stored blueprints into an actual construction section by section, up to five decks at a time. After the pieces are replicated, the pieces are moved to a shipyard to be assembled by manned crews.

The replication process takes an enormous amount of energy. Assemblers are therefore equipped with up to 4 Matter/Anti-Matter Generators, roughly 3 times the size of the largest explorer's warp core, which provide the necessary power to run the automated facility. The various assembler types can replicate any type of ship from a shuttle to a Heavy Explorer, even a dreadnought, but because of the exponentially increasing power consumption rate, Battleships, Carriers, and some stealth type vessels are beyong the replicator's capabilities.

The small type assembler is capable and designed to build Runabouts, Transports, Tugs and Destroyers. It can also with a few modifications assist int he construction of some smaller frigate type starships. The small type can also build almost a complete transport container.

The Medium type assembler is designed for large Destroyers, Frigates and small Cruisers.

The Large type assembler is designed to accomodate the Cruisers, Dreadnoughts and Explorers.

The maintenance of these facilities must occur once every 4 months when being used at optimum levels. A maintenance ship docks with the station at each portal and boards the station to perform diagnostic checks of all systems. A purge of the power systems is also performed to keep them running at peak efficiency.
