Kyle is a shy young man, who suffered from a deep depression ever since he realized he was gay. When he told his parents, they sent him to talk with a counselor, to help him accept himself as he was. Word spread around school, and he suffered from much abuse from his fellow classmates, and their parents. A few of the parents demanded that Kyle be removed from the school, as not to inflict his sickness on their children. When Kyle's parents fought back, and won, a few religious extremists vowed to seek vengeance on the family.

The unexplained fire that destroyed his home, and caused the death of his family, severely traumatized him. He was moved from his home in Central Oregon, to Central Montana, until other arrangements, in accordance with his parents' wishes could be made. It was agreed that as per his father's wishes he would be sent to live with his godparent, Bret Maverick. Mav, a Starfleet Security Officer, is stationed on GS-1 (in the Gamma quadrant) agreed a few years ago to look after his friend's two kids, if anything should happen to the Parents.

Once aboard Gateway, Kyle began counseling, to ease him of his self blame. After intensive therapy, and an attempted suicide, He has finally come to terms with his parents’ murder.

Amendment (2.10512.1823) With the help of his boyfriend, Tyler, Kyle has once again become a thriving teenager. He has become somewhat popular with his peers and gets into trouble sometimes. He has found a love for life, also provided by his boyfriend, and wakes up each day thankful that his suicide attempt failed.

He has adjusted to his new life, and brings happiness to his adoptive father. He has been well received as a member of Gateway’s younger population, despite his past, and varying degrees of trouble.

Amendment (2.20615.2300) Before leaving for Discovery, Kyle accepted a proposal from Tyler to be married on his 18th birthday.

Amendment (2.30112) Kyle returned home after a 6 month tour on the Discovery. 4 months later, after an argument, Kyle split with Tyler, and returned home until Mav's tour was over. Once again he boarded the Discovery. He showed an interest in learning Engineering, and was granted a Civilian Position as Engineer's Apprentice.

Amendment (2.40601) Kyle was granted admission into the Academy’s Distance Education Program, allowing him to remain on the Discovery through his 3rd year. Credits were granted him based upon his work up to this point in assisting in both the Science and Engineering departments. If all goes well, he will enter his sophomore year in September when fall semester classes start.

Amendment (2.41008) After the conclusion of the Calnarian Campaign, and the Discovery was refitted and repaired, they embarked on a new mission to explore new regions of the Beta Quadrant in the opposite direction as before. The mood on board hadn’t changed however, and every corridor had blood stains on the walls, even though it was just in his head. So when Commander Selyara was offered Command of USS Patriot, and asked for Tyler to come as well as her personal chef, Kyle was more than willing to go with him. With the transfer however, it put his academics behind a few months, now it will be Christmas before he reaches the credit equivalent of his sophomore year.

Amendment (2.50819) much has happened since his transfer to the Patriot. A date has been set, roughly Halloween, for a wedding. Commander Selyara has given her ok, and volunteered to perform the ceremony. Matthew, Tyler's younger brother came to stay with them on a permanent basis. It's been an adjustment for all three of them, but they will make due

Amendment (2.60115) The wedding that had been planned was delayed when Commander Selyara decided to gas her own crew into unconsciousness, and with the assistance of Orion Pirates, gutted the ship of all valuable technologies, and ran off. Tyler and Kyle agreed to not set a further date as of yet and to take a wait and see approach. Meanwhile an Internal Affairs Officer was slated to be the ship's acting Exec, while Ben Kenta took command. The IA Officer accused the entire crew who was on board at the time of assisting their captain. This included Kyle, who when faced with an order to admit the IA officer to USS Counterstrike, resigned his appointment to the Academy. To keep Kyle from trashing his career, Maverick appointed him a 2nd Lieutenant in the Starfleet Marine Corps, out of the IA Agents realm of Jurisdiction.

Amendment (2.70510) At the prodding of Colonel Maverick, Starfleet Academy bestowed earned degrees upon Kyle based off the work he'd done while on the Discovery and then Patriot. The extremely zealous nature of the IA Investigator was taken into account, and the Commendant of SFA personally signed off on the request.
