Distance to Equator: 4329 km Measured shadow angle in degrees: 51.3 Calculated Earth circumference: 40,270 km Comments: We used a meter stick (a) to cast the shadow (b)and took the mean of three measurements, using the formula Tan < A = a/b. Percent error (for calculation of the earth's circumference)= 0.65%.
