August 25, 2007

The Fall CH-1 class will open Sunday, August 26. Student login ids will be set to first_initial_last_name. Passwords will be set to Exxxxx where xxxx represents the last 6 digits of the student ID number. The default email address will be set to the ECC student email id unless you have contacted the instructor prior to the accounts being uploaded. In which case your normal id has been put into the system. Once a student logs in, he/she can reset their email id to use another account using the Profile menu. If you can not log in, contact the instructor right away to get any errors corrected.

There are a few openings left. The class has not reached the maximum limit of 60. Students are added in the order or email requests received with all of the necessary information to add. This includes the full name and student ID with a valid email address.

The Contemporary Health 1 class, section 4836 for Summer is accepting add requests at this time. Students will be placed on a list and will be added in the order the emails arrive. Please provide a complete name, student id, phone number and email id in the mail request to add.

The new course management system for the Contemporary Health 1 classes that I teach is Moodle. Student login ids will be set to first_initial_last_name. Passwords will be set to Exxxxx where xxxx represents the student ID number. The default email address will be set to the ECC student email id. Once a student logs in, he/she can reset their email id to use another account using the Profile menu.

I will be creating tutorials on how to login, submit assignments, use the forums, and take quizzes. These are not yet done because the CMS site was just created for me two days ago. You can go to http://moodle.org and links on the Resources web page for immediate help with Moodle CMS. Moodle is an open-source software used by colleges and universities around the world.

The ETUDES course management system that was used for the Contemporary Health 1 classes that I taught over the past three years will no longer be accessible beginning July 1, 2007. If you need to make up work in the spring 2007 classes, you will need to make copies of all missing assignments and submit them via email. You will be responsible for having those copies and for knowing what needs to be completed.
